Our goal is to offer our friends, neighbors and all those interested in art an opportunity to expand their exposure to, and participation in, a variety of artistic activities, or to simply enjoy the wonders of art.
Members’ interests range from pastel, traditional watercolor and oil painting to unusual art forms such as encaustic wax techniques. We are continually exploring exhibit opportunities for our members, and our newsletter provides members with information on area art events. “A Walk in the Park” is our annual art fair held on the last Sunday of August. The title of the fair comes from its location in beautiful North School Park in downtown Arlington Heights.
We take great pride in our selection of outstanding professional artists who demonstrate their skills, techniques and insights at our regularly scheduled meetings. Our demonstrations include watercolor, oil, pastel, pencil, acrylic and other media. We sponsor art guild workshops, a variety of exhibition opportunities in local venues, as well as a social environment in which we exchange thoughts and ideas on art.
Meetings are held on the third Thursday of each month from September to May, with the exception of December, at 7:00 p.m. at the Wheeling Township Community Service Center, 1616 Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, Illinois
Guests are welcome at our demonstrations for a $5 fee. Guest fees paid at the May meeting will be applied to the following year's annual dues if the guest decides to join. Please feel free to come to our next meeting! If you have questions not answered here, email us at ahartguild@gmail.com or mail us at P. O. Box 621, Arlington Heights, IL 60006
